Now let's dive into the array of new features and upgrades we introduced in 2023. While it's impossible to cover them all here (we don't want to overwhelm you with a never-ending blog!), we've curated a collection for you to explore.
Agile job advertising and attraction
Job advertising is a tricky business. Sometimes there aren’t enough candidates applying and other times you’re overwhelmed with applications that aren't the right fit. However, by strategically targeting the right audience in the right places, you can ensure that your job ads reach the perfect candidates. So to address this, we introduced the Job Board Marketplace – a free add-on feature for our customers.
What is Job Board Marketplace?
The Job Board Marketplace is a dynamic tool that's designed to maximise recruitment advertising reach. With the ability to post job adverts directly to over 5000 job boards worldwide, this marketplace ensures job adverts are seen by your target audience.
As well as simplifying the advertising process, key metrics are also captured to monitor the effectiveness of each job advert and channel, so you have the insights to understand which sources are delivering the best results - and which ones could do better.
Onboarding and Compliance for the modern age
Not only did we deliver over 30 upgrades and new additions to our Onboarding products in 2023, for our customers using these add-ons, we include the upgrades at no extra cost.
From being able to reset onboarding for more streamlined actions and turning the process into two-stages alongside greater flexibility in customising documents - you can always be sure that as well as playing ‘by the book’, the onboarding and compliance stage for new hires is productive, informative, engaging and easy to understand.
What is Onboarding and Compliance?
In our Jobtrain ATS, Onboarding and Compliance is a testament to our commitment to a seamless recruitment process - from beginning to end. We’ve designed it in collaboration with our clients and it’s been lauded as a "powerhouse" for its innovative approach to onboarding new hires.
By significantly reducing admin burdens, the Onboarding and Compliance module ensures compliance checks, particularly DBS and Right-to-Work checks, are handled efficiently and effectively. As well as streamlining the hiring process, it enhances the experience for both recruiters and candidates too. New hires are onboarded swiftly and efficiently so they're raring to go and eager to start their new roles. By having a proactive approach to onboarding and compliance, it saves time and fosters a positive and welcoming environment for new hires.
Assessments and shortlisting
Having the flexibility to create and tailor forms, be it application forms, shortlisting forms, killer questions, is invaluable to our customers. We’re always looking at new ways to make assessments and shortlisting faster and easier for our customers – so this area didn’t escape our 2023 updates either with the introduction of smart selections in some of our shortlisting forms.
Indeed advertising partnership
Indeed is a valuable advertising channel for many businesses. So, ensuring our ATS seamlessly links with this channel in a multitude of ways is crucial for our customers. We introduced new types of applications and features specifically relating to one of our integrations called Indeed Direct Apply. From a new Equal Opportunities and ECNI (Equality Commission for Northern Ireland) feature to automatically including the killer questions for candidates who apply direct from Indeed – we have it covered.
What is Indeed Direct Apply?
The integration with Indeed revolutionises the way candidates apply for jobs, making the process smoother and more efficient. Indeed Direct Apply in our ATS enables candidates to submit applications directly through Indeed, streamlining their experience and increasing the number of completed applications.
This seamless connection simplifies the application process for candidates and ensures their applications are directly fed into our applicant tracking system. As a result, recruiters benefit from a far more organised and efficient workflow, with quick access to a wider pool of applicants.
Usability upgrades
Our mantra is that an applicant tracking system should be intuitive and easy to use, no matter how often it’s used – whether you’re a regular user or someone who only logs in when it’s time to hire, like a Hiring Manager might. We constantly look to improve and that’s why we made several upgrades to our ATS platforms.
We've expanded the number of places where customers can preview job adverts, provided even more search options to identify star candidates and introduced additional options for tailoring access and views for different types of users. These small (but mighty!) updates improve the user experience for both our customers and their candidates.
Interviews - first impressions count
Interviews are the key stage to make a good first impression with potential hires - and equally for them to showcase what they have to offer. Getting off on the right foot is vital for both parties. In 2023, interview booking functionality didn’t escape our continuous improvement program, with a plethora of upgrades to all our interview booking features.
Interview booking made easy
Most ATS platforms include interview arranging tools as standard. It streamlines the recruitment process and efficiently helps users arrange and manage interview bookings.
Within our own ATS platforms, the feature empowers candidates to book their own interview slots online at their leisure, ensuring a smooth and self-managed scheduling experience. We also include the ability to book Microsoft Teams and pre-recorded video interviews too.
Schedule individual interviews or set up full assessment days with multiple candidates per day – it’s all there. For organisations with high-volume recruitment needs, they benefit significantly from time savings and reduced admin burden. For candidates – it offers a far more streamlined process where they have greater control to book, edit or cancel interviews so they (and our customers) know where they stand.
