As a provider of Applicant Tracking Systems, we are unique in that we have an in-house talent intelligence unit that supports our clients with their recruitment processes. But what exactly is it?
Talent Intelligence (TI) is using information and expertise to drive clarity into seeing and addressing talent problems and challenges.
Once you have your dashboards set up and Management Information (MI) is being produced on a regular basis, it is important not to become complacent with this. You don’t want to simply be ticking boxes and noting changes in the data, you need to truly interrogate and extrapolate what the data is saying. This helps you write and discover stories that ultimately help you arrive at an informed decision when making recruitment plans for the future.
This is why it’s crucial to utilise various sources of data, both external and internal, from which you can then identify the relationships between them. Your internal data is usually derived from your HR/ATS platform, the collaboration of this data and external data such as people, social, economic and competitor data help truly drive organisational performance. It’s important not to only focus on your internal data and benchmarking against your own performances solely.
So now that we have an understanding of what TI is about and how it works, how can we practically help you?
We have our very own data engine called JobBrain. This coupled with our talent insights helps you see the problems and improve on them. Our goal is to provide Talent Acquisition and HR functions with business intelligence and insights that will allow you to achieve your goals. This is offered to all our clients and external non-clients.
An example that encapsulates what has already been discussed is our Candidate Experience Audit. This takes the form of our TI team going through your organisation's full candidate journey, from finding your vacancy on various job boards to the end of the application process. We will then schedule a meeting with you to share our findings and send you a copy of the report.
This written report includes data and good practice from the job market to help push your recruitment in the right direction. We highlight areas of your candidate experience that we believe are good, fair, or in need of improvement. This report also incorporates market data for benchmarking.
The candidate experience audit really shows the power that TI can bring to the table. It gives you an outside perspective on such a crucial part of the candidate journey which helps define your organisation's recruitment practices. It can lead to new goals and identifying areas to change and improve upon.
The TI team here at Jobtrain also looks at the market as a whole. We routinely produce free market reports, with the base of data coming from over 35,000 vacancies and 8,500 surveyed candidates across 18 industry sectors.
These reports share data and information on recruitment activity for the last 6 months and cover candidate motivations, ED&I, vacancy growth by sector, time-to-hire, the Gen Z workforce and much more.
They are perfect for informing your organisation on trends in the current market and your sector specifically. This links back strongly to how we defined TI and how it’s important to be looking at various different sources of data, these reports allow you to benchmark and draw those connections and relationships.
We hope that this overview on what role Talent Intelligence can serve an organisation and how our Jobtrain platform utilises it for the benefit of our clients and demystify any aspects of TI.
We are always open for a casual discussion on any of the points raised and how we can help you!
